Spybot Search and Destroy 1.6.2

Directions

1. Launch Spybot Search and Destroy
1. Use shortcut on your desktop or click on Start --> All Programs --> Spybot Search and Destroy
2. Click on the Update tab located on the left hand side of the screen
1. A welcome screen will appear on your desktop.  Click on the “Search” button located at the bottom of the welcome screen.
2. Next you should see a window displaying a list of available sites to download.  Select any of the USA locations and then click on the “Continue” button.
3. Next select all available options to download and then click on the “download” button located at the bottom of the screen.
4. When the downloads are completed you should get a reminder from Spybot directing you to run the immunization utility.  Click OK to continue and click “Exit” to close out of the update window.
3. Click on the Immunize tab located on the left hand side of the screen.
1. This will initiate the immunization tool that will analyze your computer to see if any additional immunization steps need to be taken.
2. Once the progress bar reaches the end, click on the “Immunize button located in the upper left corner of the window.
4. Once that progress bar reaches the end, click on the Search & Destroy button located at the upper left corner of the window.
1. Click the “Check for Problems button located near the upper left corner of the window.
2. This will launch the scanning program which can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 30 minutes or more depending on the speed of your computer.
3. When the scan is complete, you will see a list of programs that Spybot has detected as being Spyware.  Click on the button labeled “Fix Selected Problems” to remove the Spyware.
